Yes, MY XBOX RROD'd.

I'm kinda trying to talk a dear family member out of getting an Xbox...I've always been a Playstation person myself....

Nidas

I'm on the "all the new consoles suck" side personally :p 360 is the only one with any games that particularly appeal to me at the moment but there's so many reports of problems with it that I've been putting off getting one for now. Wii is just too damn gimmicky and the PS3 currently lacks any killer games that would actually make it worth splashing the cash for (hey I'm on a student budget here :p). I'll just stick with my trusty PS2 and Xbox for now. I always used to be a Nintendo stalwart in the pre-GC days, then they turned fail ~_~

In other news, I've been watching the Saw trilogy over the last couple of days. Don't see what all the fuss is about to be honest, it seems kinda... mediocre to me >_> Still entertaining though :p

Oh and I have more uni work to get on with now, 3 essays to do over the next couple of weeks of what is laughably called a holiday. Joy.

* Nidas, away! *

As long as you don't force your opinions on that family member, I have no objections. (well, unless it's your money, then you can sway his/her opinion however you want. ^^)

...speaking of objections, I have a Phoenix Wright game i need to start playing.

All I've known is PlayStation and Nintendo, really.  And dojin games on the PC. XD;

Most console games I love aren't known by very many people (relatively speaking), and probably doesn't appeal to the large majority of gamers.  I'm still on my PS2.  Still playing games on it. I'll wait and see how the games come out for the PS3 for 2008. The hype-machine known as the internet thinks it's going to be good.  And while a few games on the 360 appeal to me, I'm not willing to shell out that much money for just a few games.  (also on student budget, which tends to go to more anime stuff than games)

NejinOniwa

I'm putting all my student budget this year on buying myself a Wii; After buying DELTA I'm pretty much strapped, but I'll see what cash I can crank up.
PS3 seems just to be money for nothing to me, and 360 seems as unstable as Vista and as floppy as a 5.25 *snicker* and despite having some real good titles (looking at you there, Master Chief!) It's not worth it in my book. Nope, the NextGen console I'll be saving up for is a Wii, with Brawl and ToS2.

A Wii is fine. i've had one for about 4 months now. lots of gimmick like Nidas-san says but most games can also be played lying on the bed or sitting on the couch.
recently i've been preoccupied playing resident evil umbrella chronicles which is kick ass. yay for super powered Wesker.
i've also developed a liking to Wario ware for some reason.

but i still think the ulimate game device is the PC. nothing but doujin games fun!  :/
My my, aren't you lovely~

You greatly overestimate my power of persuasion...I have about as much sway on family members as a gentle summer breeze on a redwood tree ^////^

Anyway, Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a nice evening!
It's snowing crazy out here. 6 or so inches since last night; we haven't seen so much snow since, like, 2001.... ;010

I really don't think I could ever stand winter in a place without serious cold and snow. My mind can't take that.

I feel your pain (yes, the local ski areas have felt that pain for the past few years), but your gonna have to take this up with Mother Nature ;)

We've been having quite a time out on the slopes :)

True that!

ehe.... it's never snowed where I live.  It's snowed once not too far from here in Malibu, but still hasn't snowed in downtown. haha.

.....come to think of it, it's been a while since I've felt snow with my own hands... that was in Chicago..... January 2006. yeah. ^^
