I crawled out of bed at 4pm, and am currently drinking a Coke.  Also I'm waiting impatiently for my new iPhone to arrive, as the Samsung Galaxy S3 I bought in november has been a pain in the ass from the get go.

^ I replaced my old S3 last summer when I changed providers, since the issues I was having with it (Slowdowns, frequent crashes, etc.) were becoming too much of a hassle, and I didn't like how my provider at the time refused to offer OTA updates for their phones; instead wanting people to just buy a brand new phone if they need a newer version of Android.

Red-Machine

Well Samsung only updated it to Android 4.3 anyways, so you weren't missing much.  I tried several different custom ROMs; CyanogenMod (Android 6.1.1), Resurrection Remix (Android 7.0.1), and two based on the original Samsung ROM.  None of them worked 100%, and the ones based on the original ROM had the task manager/recent apps switcher bugged to the point that it crashed the UI if I tried to use it.  I can't afford to get a decent current Android device (I really want the BlackBerry Priv), so I just got a used iPhone because I don't want to deal with using a device with out-of-date software, or incredibly buggy current software through custom ROMs.  The 5S may be a bit old, but it's still getting updates, and the 64bit CPU means it won't be dropped any time soon like the 5 or 5C will.

True, though my provider shipped the phone with 4.1 and refused to update it. I did have Cyanogenmod running on it briefly, as an experiment after I upgraded, but it died as soon as I tried to add OpenGapps, so I could access the Play Store; forcing me to fight through repeating error messages to reflash it to the backup I made of the stock ROM

Yay! Good to see this thread picking up some steam. :D

My Samsung Galaxy S1 aged super quickly. I got it in 2012 and it was pretty much unusable 6 months later (apps crashed constantly, overheating, couldn't handle software updates, etc)... and it finally broke in 2013, when I replaced it with an S5, which runs just as well as the day I got it. I'm convinced earlier generation Galaxies weren't very high quality.

My S3 had problems since day 1, leading me to think it might have been a factory defect (As none of the ones I had activated for customers had the problems mine did out of the box), but I just dealt with it until the problems became too difficult to ignore. Now I have a Galaxy Amp 2, which is practically just an S3 in cheaper packaging, but much more reliable.

I'm using a BlackBerry Q10 until the iPhone arrives.

Before my current phone (Asus, ZenFone 2) I was carrying a cheap Samsung DuoS or something. It wasn't even available in French market but had to be imported from the less demanding markets of the Union. I had it as I needed a dual-sim phone, but unfortunately I dropped it to the ground shortly afterwards, and anyway it turned out to be super unstable and slow as hell. Oh well.

The ZenFone has been a pleasure to use. Mind you, I haven't ever had a kickass high-end smartphone so this is the closest to one I'll probably get. It's just as smooth as on day 1 (been six months now). Yet, it came with a shitload of apps pre-installed so a big caveat there.

Life's been complicated since Fedora-Tan and I broke up. I'm not very good at dealing with all the adult stuff after being so sheltered/isolated for years. I'm on anxiety and depression pills, but I believe I'm eventually getting it together. I have a loving partner and a big pile of plushies.

I love going out dancing when I'm just comfortable enough. My style has evolved into a much more butch direction in the last 12 months, as I feel more confident about my identity.

I found this and it made me chuckle.  I wish I could do this to everyone with a combover.

@pit: love you and love it. if you need help adulting, I was planning on giving rudimentary tips to my friend Artemis. :0

@Red: have you ordered the phone yet? if not, consider an SE! I have an iPhone SE and I love it. All the current tech of the series in a nice little package, made cheaper by using the 5's architecture. has a better camera and battery life than the 6! :0

Unfortunately, I cannot afford the SE right now.  Even without my having pre-ordered the Nintendo Switch.  The phone just arrived anyway, so it's a moot point by now.

You know, I actually kinda wanted to preorder the Switch, but the local store is filled up, and even then, I don't have the money for one (Same problem with a PS4, or making much-needed upgrades to 2kME-tan the Desktop; since I'm stuck with its on-board video after my graphics card got fried...although, before it died, there were interesting graphical glitches, feeling like Vinny took a corrupter to the game xD)
