@Kari: Niiiiiice >:3
My sister had an Acer netbook that she loved, so I hope you like it.

@Duko: Happy anniversary :3

So, I had a pretty good day; one sour bit aside. Let's begin from...well, the beginning.

Phase 1: A Hut of Pizzas
Before anything else, I had work. As I pulled into the parking lot, while listening to Savatage's Dead Winter Dead (A fucking amazing album, BTW), I got a laugh over the song that was playing reaching the line "This is the one place to be" as I pull into the parking lot; as this really wasn't the place I wanted to be, as my body was ready for adventure.

The work day went well; was actually pretty slow for a Sunday, so I had everything wrapped up by 3PM as I hoped for. While there, just before I left, my sister brought me her Christmas gift for me; a Doctor Who mug and a box of Constant Comment tea :3

With that out of the way, I message Kari to let her know of my status, and then proceed to fuel up the van, pick up my stuff from grandma's office, and head out.

Phase 2: I forgot things
After a long trek, made slightly longer due to traffic around the mall, I arrive at my hotel room and proceed to unload. Upon arrival, I realize I forgot my pillows (Which, hotel pillows suck; always bring your own). Thus, I made plans to swing by Walmart to get a pillow, while I was out doing other things. Since Kari was tied up with D&D, I took a bath (Listening to the Crystal Caves theme from DK64; which was quite relaxing), had my quesadilas that I took with me, and then proceeded to head out on adventure.

Phase 3: Miniskirt Get
First stop was the mall. I finally got to look in the new Toys 'R' US Express (Which is basically KB Toys rebranded), seriously debated taking a peek in some of the lingerie stores (Decided against it), and most importantly, went to Hot Topic. I found the skirt I wanted, which I was surprised they still had it, so I immediately bought it along with a Portal blind box (New series had turrets and Companion Cubes...although I ended up with a yellow turret -w-; ), and a pair of the Funko Pop figurines for my bro-in-law and sister as Christmas gifts (Which, seems the Grell I bought was one bro-in-law wanted to get for my sister, but they were sold out at the time). Excited, I carry onward to my next destination.

Phase 4: The Adventure of Link
During a random trip to Target, in hopes of maybe finding the Villager Amiibo (Which he seems to be one of the hardest to find right now), I end up stumbling onto a different sort of rarity: the Link action figure from the World of Nintendo toy line (Presumably unrelated to the similarly-named Nintendo fansite I used to read eons ago), which is stupidly expensive online (I paid $8 for it, and often see it going for nearly the same price as the much higher quality Figma Link). To be honest, putting aside the minor annoyance over him being the Skyward Sword Link, in terms of figure build, he's much higher quality than the vintage Ocarina of Time Link action figure...or Amiibo Link and his Frozen Pillar of PeeTM -w-;;

Phase 5: Comfy Bra get
When I went to Walmart, after obtaining my pillow, I found myself looking at the lingerie section for whatever reason...and found they still had the cheap, comfy bra and panty sets that I liked (Obtained one from the Walmart at home...and then they stopped carrying them when I decided to go back to get another). Thus, I finally have another one :3

I then went over to Marshall's...and ended up buying yet another bra, which also looked comfy (Didn't see anything else I wanted, sadly).

Phase 6: Christmas is nearly complete
Since it was next door, I walked down to Best Buy; and while sadly I didn't see the Villager Amiibo, I did find the major thing I was after: a laptop case for dad. Was a little pricy, but was the best one for how he typically transports his laptop (It's mostly a padded sleeve, with a zipper to keep accessories and such inside). Now, just one person left to get a gift for...and thankfully, I already know what I'm going to buy.

Phase 7: Yuri, and more forgetting things
My final stop for the night before going back to my room was Barnes & Noble; on a mission to obtain the hardback edition of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy omnibus. Sadly, they didn't have it, although I did see something lulzy in the bathroom (Apparently someone snuck a book on hacking into the bathroom stall, and tried to hide to away like it was porn?)...and, upon browsing the manga, I found the Strawberry Panic complete series omnibus. Given that I never thought I'd ever encounter yuri in person, I scooped it up proudly and was ready to drive back to my hotel...when I realized I don't have a bottle opener, so I can't have my hard cider that was waiting in the fridge.

The CVS next door proved fruitless, as I began to hope maybe I could find a konbini on my way that would have it, as I really didn't want to backtrack to Walmart, and didn't think any dollar stores would still be open at 9PM on a Sunday...but lo and behold, as I'm going down the road, there's a Family Dollar that's still open. I got into that parking lot as fast as possible, went in, got my bottle opener, and was back on the road.

Phase 8: Relaxation, and disappointment
Upon arriving back at the hotel, with it attempting to rain, I finally get out my laptop and begin checking all my usual websites, as I began to look over the things I bought. Sadly, the miniskirt is too small for me, so I have to go back to Hot Topic tomorrow and hope they have the next size up. Everything else is good, though :3

Now, I think I'll wrap up this post and take a bath; since wearing my jacket the entire time was not the best idea I had (Although it was mostly for extra pockets rather than it actually being cold). Tomorrow, there's a few more stores I plan to hit up, and then I'll return home.

Chocofreak13

have fun! ^^

and if you still want to play CaH again tomorrow, i'm game. i can give Softy a whirl. ;v;

Sounds good, assuming everyone is actually online and I actually remember to inform people before they disappear -w-;;

In other news, bleh; the one thing I hate about getting a hotel is that it's so hard for me to get comfortable enough to sleep >_<

sks963

I cant define that im strong life ,but my lifeblood is certainly hard.

Back home. Going to take a bath, and then make a post about my day

EDIT: Here we go. This is how the rest of my trip went

Phase 9: Restless Nights
After the previous entry, I decided to go to bed...and initially, I had a hard time trying to relax enough to go to sleep, even with alcohol. After struggling for a while, I decided to get back up, grab my laptop, and watch some random Vinesauce videos. After a while, I finally got some sleep; not much, but at least enough for me to function the next day.
(I have this thing about hotels; it's often hard to me to get comfortable enough to sleep :\ )

Phase 10: Breakfast with Uncle Jobel
The morning began with me getting dressed and going downstairs to have breakfast; unlike last time, they did have sausage, so I was able to make myself a breakfast sandwich...and also slip away with some bagels to take home >w>;
(I also randomly grabbed a bag of Earl Grey tea -w-)

Once back in my room, I hooked my laptop up to the TV and watched some of Joel's Atari Madness stream while I checked stuff online and packed my bags. By 10AM, I decided to stop the video for now, load up the van, and head out.

Phase 11: BBQ sauce, cheap manga, and PS4 for $25
My first stop was over to Sam's Club; since dad let me borrow his membership card. Like last time, I put some gas in the van and bought a giant package of Doublemint gum, but also picked up a 2-pack of my favorite BBQ sauce -w-

Once I finished there, I went down to Hastings...although before I went in there, I walked down to a fairly new place in the same strip mall, called Rocket Fizz; a shop specializing in gormet sodas and candy. They have a lot of things I'd like to try out, although sadly they don't have Not See Kola (They do have a knock-off of Leninade called "Stalinade", though), and their price on Moxie is more expensive than the place I usually go to, but I do plan to eventually go back there sometime and pick out some drinks.

I then walked down to Game-X-Change, as par usual; initially not seeing anything that stood out to me...until I saw Phantasy Star IV sitting in their glass case. I had them do a price check, and upon being told it was $25, I scooped that up instantly; given that it's one of the games I've wanted to get for my Genesis for ages.

Lastly, to Hastings...and after being tempted to get volume 3 of Cardcaptor Sakura, I ultimately went for some cheap manga; getting volume 2 of Negima (Already have volume 1), the first 2 volumes of the Case Closed manga (For Kari), and a keychain of Maka (Because Maka :3)

Phase 12: Chaos Realm, Part 1
Sadly, this is the point things got hectic, as I was caught in rush hour. Traffic was slown to a crawl; which made getting over to the mall, which usually takes 2 minutes tops, take almost 15 minutes. The fact I was starting to get hungry wasn't helping matters much, either. Once I was in their parking lot, then came the fun of finding a parking spot, and then weaving around people as I make my way back to Hot Topic to exchange the skirt (Thankfully, they had an XL, which I'll try on later to see if it fits; I do have the gas to drive back if it doesn't fit, but I really don't want to go back until after Christmas).

With that finished, I then began to make the trek to get lunch (Having a bottle of Pibb Xtra to keep my energy up, as I was starting to feel a bit dizzy). As I left the parking lot, nearly had some asshat in a Mercedes slam head-first into me as I was turning (And they had the nerve to honk at me, when they're the one that flew out of fucking nowhere going far too fast in the parking lot and weren't even remotely close to the stop sign when I began to turn. I like to think maybe they were arrested not long after for, as my dad would put it, Driving With Head Up Ass).

Phase 13: Penti Tries Jimmy John's
After a long trek, I arrived at the place I wanted to try out: Jimmy John's, a sandwich shop that I remember Brad Jones mentioning in an episode of Brad Tries. Getting a pastrami and provalone sandwich, I sat down and experienced a sandwich that rivals the locally-owned sub shop back home in terms of taste. Also, chatted with one of the employees about Zelda, when he noticed my shirt -w-

The only real flaw with the sandwich was that I wish I had asked them to go easy on the onions -w-;;

Phase 14: Chaos Realm, Part 2
Now that I finally had some food in me, at about 2PM, I finally got back on the road...and began the painfully slow trek toward the final stop I planned to make. After what felt like an eternity (It took almost 45 minutes for me to get off of the main street and onto the side road I need), and also nearly having some impatient old fart nearly slam into me via driving on the sidewalk to get onto the road I was about to turn onto, I was finally out of the chaos realm, as I swept through the much more calm traffic to go to Brookshire's; picking up the few things I wanted (Including a case of Cheerwine; as a Christmas gift for one of my coworkers :3), before making the drive home...and thankfully, the heavy traffic was far behind me as I got home.

Phase 15: Kitty on my bed and I wanna touch it
Once back home, I began to unload everything from the van; relieved that I survived the madness that is daytime Tyler traffic on the week of Christmas. I was greeted by Vester, whom began to inspect the things I bought before plopping down on my bed -w-

Now, with Christmas shopping finished (And admittedly, I went a little overboard with buying things ^^; ), I can relax...although I do need a new mouse for 2k, as for some reason the left mouse button is barely responsive and stops working while I'm trying to drag something :\

Sounds like a good trip, Pent.

Work almost went to hell but only got a little scorching.

Chocofreak13

don't sell your soul to the Devil, Stew! we already almost did that yesterday in-game.

@Pent: glad you had a good time, even if the traffic was shit, the people were crap, and the bed was doodie. i yaaaayed when i learned of the manga, so thankyou, even if you didn't have to. ^^

also dammit i still want to pet vester
like my cat instincts are so strong that even if he's 2,000 miles away i still want to pet him

winduko

Jimmy John's is good stuff. :D

I had it delivered to me at school once.

Forgot what I had, but it was good stuff.

I had it a few times before that. Once because my mom took me to one in Indy, and again because one of my mom's former co-workers gave me one because he was a nice guy.

Chocofreak13

wonder what kind of food they have. also i want pizza for some reason.

Softy is turning out to be a slight pain in the ass since all her drivers are geared for Windows 8 and as such i need to find and download drivers for 7 otherwise her wireless card won't work. ><;

@Kari: Good luck :[

Also, the replacement skirt fits. It's so nice >w<

Chocofreak13

she is resisting hard becoming part of the team. maybe she didn't like the switch to 7? but either way she's being quite a bitch and i feel like i'm trying to break in a wild stallion. only less dramatic. :\

(i can't even get frustrated with her, since if i BREATHE on her wrong she'll break. >>; )

Unpopular opinion: I've used Windows 8 for about a year on the lab computers and I still have yet to notice any major differences between it and Windows 7, except for the Metro start screen thing. If Microsoft offered an option to get rid of Metro and reinstate the Start Menu out-of-the-box I'd be hard pressed to find a single (non-GUI) difference between them.

Then again I don't really use the start menu to begin with, I just drag all my frequently-used icons onto the task bar and launch things from there. If you really want a start menu, there's a mod for that.

Nichi

Let's keep in mind that 8 and 7 are basically the same OS under the hood, and with Classic Shell or another similar program installed to bring back proper Start Menu functionality, the only drastic change is cosmetic.

Also, I seriously need a new mouse; highlighting stuff is becoming nigh-on impossible. I think playing all that Half-Life and Portal over the summer has finally taken its toll on this cheap mouse :\

Chocofreak13

it's hard enough to run some of my programs on 7, so i don't want to get a further edition removed from the ones set up for it.

also, irrational as it may be, i just really, really don't like it.

Nichi

True enough; I have Virtualbox with Windows 2000 setup as a compatibility layer, to run those few things I can't shoehorn onto 7 :\
