I feel like a motherfucking genius. There is a type of clothing called Ao Dai (national costume of Vietnam, google it) that is appearantly popular enough that it has beauty pagents here in the us. Yet for some reason, they're a bitch to find outside of Vietnam, and if you can, they're damn expensive. As a result I was only able to find one pattern in google images, and it was small, grainy, undescriptive, and not in english. And after half an hour of drafting and another hour or so of sewing, I had made a doll-sized one. Next step: drafting a human-sized pattern. I feel like a motherfucking boss right now. -w-

So, my mom gave me some money as my Christmas gift. About to cash the check and then put the money away for my trip -w-

that could be an option, but is better saved for when you're here, so that i can get accurate measurements and line it up with my dressform.


you know, this is probably just a sewing person problem, but i really wish they had gender-neutral dressforms. :\
