that said, AoT, judging from reviews, looks like a hardcore series, but totally not my taste, lol. it's gotten rave reviews from people I know, though, so I recommend it.

It's really, really not.
It's a visually hyped Big Shonen of the new decade. Rave reviews or not. Not saying that's bad (except for the "plot") but don't make it anything other than what it is.
Unless by "hardcore" you mean "bloody gritty edgy violent grimdark sliders to 11", which is not an accurate use of the word, but certainly a decent description of the series.

@nej: the term in that sense was being applied here. people get eated alive. that part isn't enough to capture my interest so despite being [size=14]HYPER SHONEN[/size] it isn't really a big thing to me. my friends on the other hand, as well as the con, they regard it as the second coming of Goku. It's on the Blue Ridge Parkway, Humpback Rocks at the farm exhibit by the visitor center.

I typed that like six hours ago and then spent all the time in between reading about turnpikes in Rockingham County (my Rockingham county).  It's a lot of sorting through old General Assembly documents.  Bonus: There was a Purgatory Creek Turnpike in Rockbridge County.

@Stew: I've done that before. Although in my case, I started working on a post, then I had to rush off to work; leaving it unposted for several hours -w-;;

So, although I was really looking forward to that convention in Tyler that my sister's wanting to go to, I think I'm going to give it a pass and just focus on saving up to move. Her inability to keep her mouth shut has resulted in her father-in-law wanting to come along (Yay; because going to Wal-Mart with him is such a joy), and in an effort to fix this, she asked mom of all people to come along so we can say there's not enough room for him in the car (Yay; mom will be there). I considered maybe going alone, on a day they won't be there, but it feels like too much of a hassle; I may as well stay home :\

I considered saving up and going with one of my friends to A-Kon in Dallas this summer, but in all honesty it'd be cheaper for me to go to AB next year even with factoring in a flight and needing more days off of work. So, yeah; maybe by the slimmest of slim chances, I can go to AB next year (Depends on how good my moving fund is looking at that point), but as it stands, at least I have my birthday vacation in a few weeks to look forward to.
