You don't; q-tips and rubbing alcohol is much better for the cartridge\system than blowing on it :\
(My N64 has been heavily used since November 1997; every game works first time with no blowing, since I clean the connectors if it acts up)

i've tried not doing that with mine and it wouldn't load! this has happened multiple times and it's made me very superstitious with it. ><;
